LCS Summer 2023: Results, playoffs bracket, schedule, and more
The playoff stage of the 2023 LCS Summer split is underway, with eight teams vying for the NA crown and spots at Worlds. Here is everything you need to know about the league.
We are down to the final eight teams in the 2023 LCS Summer Split, which was under threat at the beginning of June for two weeks after the members of the LCS Players Association (LCSPA) “overwhelmingly” voted in favor of a walkout.
The battle for Worlds 2023 spots is heating up as we get deeper into the playoffs. NRG, who returned to the LCS after a seven-year absence, have made their second debut a strong one with qualification for Worlds 2023 alongside Cloud9. Though they weren’t able to best C9 in their Upper Bracket set against each other. Meanwhile, Team Liquid and Golden Guardians are fighting for that last guaranteed Worlds 2023 spot.
Questions remained about 100 Thieves’ roster for their August 4 elimination match. Star player Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng was in doubt after being admitted to a hospital for an injury that caused internal bleeding. However, he was playing with the team as normal and seemed to have recovered.
Unfortunately, 100 Thieves’ loss at the hand of team Liquid marks the end of their competitive year. Despite having Doublelift starting for the team, the team wasn’t able to pull it together and take down a surging TL roster.
Meanwhile, TSM have already been knocked out of the playoffs by Dignitas. Despite both sets they played being close, they didn’t manage to take home a single major victory in what is likely their final playoffs run.
Team Liquid’s decisive 3-1 win over Evil Geniuses has knocked EG out of the tournament and guaranteed Team Liquid a top 4 finish, meaning that they have a guaranteed path to Worlds 2023 – though it’ll be made much easier if they can place higher in the standings.
TL will have to fight Golden Guardians for that direct path to the Group Stage after GG’s one-sided 3-0 win against Dignitas.
Here are all the details you need to know about the 2023 LCS Summer playoffs, including all the latest results, the full schedule, and the rosters.

LCS Summer 2023: Schedule and results
The summer season was initially scheduled to begin on June 1, but Riot Games decided to postpone the starting date by two weeks because of the LCS player walkout.
Because of the delay, the regular season will take place over six weeks, with matches being played on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
With Playoffs well underway, Cloud9 has become the first NA team to qualify for Worlds 2023 after their win over Evil Geniuses in the upper bracket. Every other team has lost at least one match, and no team other than C9 can afford to lose a single set. This will all lead up to the Lower Final, followed by the Grand Final that pits the two best teams against each other.
The LCS Championship will take place on August 19-20 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tickets will go on sale on June 14 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET for Mastercard holders. General sale tickets will be released a day later.
The top three teams of the Summer split will qualify for the 2023 World Championship, while the fourth-placed side will have to play the Worlds Qualifying Series.

LCS Summer 2023: Teams and rosters
The first two weeks of play have drastically shifted the power rankings, with EG’s new roster looking like an improvement over the previous one while FlyQuest languishes in last place. There have been a lot of substitutions and delays when it comes to teams fully building their rosters, but it seems that most of the chaos of the first two weeks has been sorted out.
However, TSM choosing to swap Insanity out for Ruby has been a controversial decision among fans. His consistently strong play with the team has surprised many, and Ruby will have to really stand out from the crowd if he wants to hold on to his spot.
100 Thieves’ fans will be curious to see how the team’s new mid laner, Lim ‘Quid’ Hyeon-seung, will perform. The Korean player, who came through Gen.G’s academy system, has big shoes to fill as he replaces Søren ‘Bjergsen’ Bjerg, who retired after the end of the Spring split.
That wasn’t the only change in the 100 Thieves camp, though, as the team also announced the return of top laner Kim ‘Ssumday’ Chan-ho after a split with Evil Geniuses.
On May 19, FlyQuest announced one change to their roster from the Spring Split with the signing of former Evil Geniuses player Philippe ‘Vulcan’ Laflamme as their starting support.
